In doing so, it also aims to help the transfer of results on the market by way of the on and the sharing of the skills and competencies that underlie it. The individual patents are presented in sche form, with an indic of the essen al informa on, which is useful for an in-depth analysis. This does not replace the info on that is reported on the web site or available for in the appropriate database, but it is a valuable complementary instrument of communica on. Even within the current paradigm of infor and commun the use of a support apparently outdated, such as documents in book form, can l be an important business card, easily readable and therefore more usable, and rendering easily consultable the data rela ng to single patents. At the same me, the volume, with its descrip on of the results already achieved and protected renders accessible the data to single patents and also the i of the p cal skills applicable to the solu on of other problems; at the same me the volume is useful for collabor in the elds of science and technology. For a research body such as the CNR, patent ers very en become a very useful tool for that are not wholly within the eld of patents, but which develop from research contracts and collabor The ensuing collabor ve research can lead to a number of ts; such collabo on provides resources to support the costs of proper research; it es the contents towards applicable results and favours development and valori on, with the guarantee of having obtained with the other partner a party more to pursue the related economic be which obviously require investment for the development and engineering phases. If the keyword in the changing world of today is "open inno on", it becomes important to provide a correct represen on of what is currently available, accompanied by what one is proposing to do or what one is capable of doing. In this sense the volume utes an important tool that supports other tools that the Technology Transfer (TTO) of the CNR, the CNR ce that is responsible for the n of research results and the n of intellectual property, has already developed and is promo ng within the framework of a strategy that aims to merge the f of ng and prom with those of pro on and ex on, as well as the cr of new technological enterprises.. It is with great pleasure that we are called upon to review a product that provides both an overview and a and targeted use of the research results within the CNR; thanks go to the Department, for the synergy that it has been able to create with the Technology Transfer and for wa ng, in just over a year, to come up with another volume on the subject, as well as producing some info videos on patented technologies and placing the issue of technology transfer at the centre of their We work together, therefore, to broaden this e rt, as well as in accordance with what is foreseen in the Charter of the CNR of December 2013 on intellectual property, the on of the leading role that the “CNR system” (our approach to this eld of s), and not only its formal role, has in the country’s prom of innova on, by being able to sei e the oppo deriving from recent tax incen ve schemes in favour of those companies that collaborate with the public research sector and the “patent box” and take advantage of the opportuni es available in order to new partnerships and investments by way of public patents.
